Where genteel brownstones belie subterranean horrors

Uncover the chilling secrets of Brooklyn Heights on our Haunted Brooklyn Heights Tour.

Take a stroll among the graceful homes of one of Brooklyn’s oldest neighborhoods… but don’t let their sedate charms fool you. Nestled within these dwellings are a wealth of gory, ghastly, haunted, and gruesome tales.

Brooklyn Heights hides surprising secrets: Revolutionary-era bones are buried in gardens; concealed tunnels are rife with ghost trains and poltergeist activity; hidden cemeteries and historic tragedies converge to create the phantoms of the Brooklyn Theatre Fire. Henry Ward Beecher’s ghost keeps his secrets, the Brooklyn Bridge hides its horrors, and apartments and supermarkets overlay the sites of an ancient “ghost-haunted” fort… and the “Gate to Hell!” Oh, and did we mention that horror master H.P. Lovecraft once lived here, too? (Now it’s all falling into place.) These unexpected histories infuse a gothic flavor into urban infrastructure, an occult nature that fires the imagination and makes one wonder what truly lurks beneath the “Borough of Churches.”

Created and launched in 2014, the “Haunted Brooklyn Heights” tour is Brooklyn’s original ghost tour! We keep group sizes small and the pace leisurely so you can get up close to the neighborhood’s haunted landmarks – the best way to experience these stories.
